1. Tag: Fahrt nach Shyabrubensi

Ganztätige abenteuerliche Fahrt (nicht im Preis enthalten) von Kathmandu nach Norden durch liebliche Landschaften mit wechselnden Ausblicken auf die Bergketten des Ganesh und Langtang - Himal. Der erste Teil der Strecke bis Trisuli ist noch asphaltiert. Danach geht es über eher unebene Fahrbahn (kostenlose Körpermassage inbegriffen) bis wenige Kilometer vor die Tibetische Grenze. Übernachtung in einer komfortablen Lodge in Shyabrubensi, am Zusammenfluss des aus Tibet kommenden Bhote Kosi (Tibet River) mit dem aus Osten fließenden Langtang Fluss.

2. Tag: Treck nach Birdim (2,195m). 4 -5 hours. 

Get up early and after half an hour of stretching and bit of breathing exercise. You deserve a hot cup of coffee or tea as well as breakfast. This is your last meal that you will order, after this our kitchen crew will prepare fresh and hygienic food for you for the rest of the trip until you get back to Syabru bensi or Kathmandu. Walk from Syabru Bensi to Bridim. Bridim is your base village and has a population of around 150. The walk from Syabru is mostly uphill and over into the next valley. Taken at a very leisurely pace this will take a pleasant and exhilarating 4-5 hours. You reach Bridim for late lunch. Rest of the afternoon, will be spent sorting the rooms and chilling around. Tea will be served before your first introduction to Tibetan Buddhism by our resident monk. Nights spent in Bridim will be in our comfortable Tibetan lodges with access to hot, running water, shower and modern toilet facilities.

3. u. 4. Tag: Birdim

After a comfortable night’s sleep, from today you will start to get to know Bridim. The village was settled by Tibetans from Kyirong several hundred years ago. Most houses are built on traditional patterns, and it is fascinating to observe the traditional way of life. Changes are coming to Bridim – there are electric power lines, and there is now a health post. The gompa is the centre of village life. As you walk around the village, you are sure to be invited into houses that you pass.

The first two days is Bridim mainly includes, explore the village, language lessons, learn local crafts and working/agricultural methods, meditation practice and talks from resident lama on religion and culture. 

5. Tag: TREK TO GODEKANG (3,270m) 5 hours.

For many years the pastures at Godekhang have been used by the people of Bridim for summer grazing. Today you will walk up to the pastures on the steep mountain trail. At the bottom of the path is the original old gompa. This is situated under a huge rock, and was visited by Guru Rimpoche. The path winds upwards, initially through forests of rhododendron and bamboo. After two or so hours a clearing is reached, and above this the forest becomes thicker, with mossy trees and huge rocks. Suddenly you emerge from the forest to stupendous views of the Ganesh range, many Tibetan peaks and Langtang Two. The pastures are just a little higher, and you will camp near the huts that are used in the summer months . Camp overnight.

6. Tag: GODEKANG (3,270m)

You will hopefully wake up to stunning mountain views, and spend time taking plenty of photographs. Explore the surrounding beauties and we will walk upto 3600 meters for the better view of the mountains after breakfast, Come back to the camp for lunch. Free afternoon. This evening, we will have a nice campfire.

7. Tag: RETURN TO BRIDIM (2,195m), 2-3 hours.

Wind your way back down to Bridim. This is quite a steep walk virtually all downhill. The descent to Bridim is hard on the knees, and the afternoon can be spent relaxing in the garden. 

8. Tag: IN BRIDIM.

Relax in Bridim with meditation and plenty of reading time. Today is your final day in Bridim, and again, you can get involved in village life. By now you may have learnt a few words of the local language, you will be amazed at how many members of the village know your name and, depending on your interests, you may have the chance to visit the local mill, try your hand at weaving or help brew the local drink, Ara. This evening, enjoy a party in Tibetan style with your porters and the villagers..

9. Tag: FREE MORNING. TREK TO SYABRU BESI, 2-3 hours walk.

In the morning, the Bridim Bazaar kicks off. This gives visitors a chance to purchse beautiful Tibetan crafts made locally and ensure that the money goes directly to the villagers. This helps to keep these crafts alive. After lunch, you will walk back to Syabru Bensi on the way down) and stay at a guest house for the night. Overnight guest house.

10. Tag: DRIVE TO KATHMANDU, 6 hours drive.

Drive back to Kathmandu by 4x4 or minibus. Overnight Maya Guest House.
